How do you let go of someone you care about -- who will not be in your life?

Question:
How do you get over missing someone who is not in your life anymore? He was never horrible to me ... he just has some major issues of his own. Yet -- I miss him a lot and I'm trying to let it go... any advice on how to do that?

Answers:
Unfortunately, as a fact of life, people leave. Either they pass away or they meet someone they feel is better for them or the relationship is just not right. Sometimes you are the one that has to make the decision to leave & the other person might be the one that has to deal with the hurt. That being said, take small steps. Change your routine up a little. Take a class or get a new hobby. Anything that will make you stop thinking by yourself & get you around others. Hope it helps a little.
Is this a boyfriend or just a friend?
Whichever it is, I think you need to find some way of taking your mind off him. Maybe start something new, like a sport (if that's your kind of thing) or get more involved with work or your social life. You could try spending more time with friends, if you can. Friends are always great to get you through this kind of thing. Sometimes all it takes is someone to talk to!!
Good luck
