i don't know if you tried, but perhaps there are forums, chats or helpful websites on ADULTS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES, OR COPING WITH ADULTS WITH LD?

it's worth a try.

you're a special person hugs
FIRST: acceptance. the parent should learn to accept the siruation, the reality.

SECOND: make a move. Seek help to a psychiatrist, psychologist, counselor, etc.

THIRD: child support. children with these kind of disabilities often are seeking for attention from parents. They may have gained less attention or the excess. Help, encourage and support the child upon improving his/her status.

I have a toddler who was just diagnosed with autism and I am not coping well at all. To everyone looking in at my little family, it looks okay. The house is always clean, laundry done and meals on the table. I bring my son to his program at the hospital and six days a week (two times a day) his therapists come to my home for ABA and OT therapies. I seem fine, but what no one knows is that I go in the bathroom run the water and cry. I have returned to my eating disorder and either I don't eat or if I do I go run the water and vomit. I am tired and miserable and just want to die. I am already sick of doctor appointments and filling out forms and therapists coming in and out of my home six days a week. I feel selfish to say all this because it is about my son, not me.
