Eating Disorder: Chew & Spit?
Question:
A few years ago I was 165lbs, went on a super-low-cal diet & got down to 138. I did a foolish thing & did a fast (2 weeks, water only) at the end of that diet to clean out my body. Unfortunately, it just made me a ravenous pig, & food, which I could take or leave before that, became a focal point in my life. I gained a few pounds & panicked.
Then I discovered I could chew up & spit out really great tasting things w/out the calories. I got so hooked on doing it, that for the past 2yrs I've done it almost every day. I do it so much that if I don't work out like a dog I'll GAIN weight! I work all alone all day so there is no one to catch me, & I live on my own as well. When I'm around others it's no problem, but when I'm not ...
I promise myself I just won't ... then I promise myself "this will be the last time" ... then I just keep doing it.
Anyone have experience with this? Advice?
Answers:
I am so sorry. I know what you mean. I've been bulimic for the past 5 years and trust me it controlls your life. Do you get away from people to do it and do you spend alot of time doing it? You need to get some kind of help. Trust me bulimia has ruined so much of my life. To the point where I had no life. As of now I have extreme heart burn, the enamel on my teeth are so worn off they look jagged and are so sensitive and like you if I don't work out alot I gain weight so fast. My metabolism is so screwed up.. Please Please get some help. I would be more than happy to help you. Is there anyone else that knows about this? (like friends or family?) If you do you should confide in them. Trust me you need to stop and start living your life. This isn't a way to live. I'll pray for you. I don't want to get all religious on you but God is the only way to get you through this. This is serious. Please talk to someone!
It's a form of Anorexia. Have the same effects on the body. It's not healthy.stop now before you really hurt yourself
My best advice is to find a good psychologist who works with folks with eating disorders.
Without treatment, it will only intensify.
Best of luck to you,
~M~
I dont have any experience but I think you should see a doctor you might be ruing your body and you're too young for that.
I would suggest that you see a professional, because you do not want to take chances. Take it easy on yourself.
