Psychiatrists, etc?

Question:
In your opinions, which kind of mental help is the most effective?

Answers:
I find a mix of both therapy and meds works for me but that would really depend upon what was wrong with you. As you give very little detail to what is going on its hard to say what might be helpful. take care good luck
i think that homeopaths are the best
they can help you with anything, physical and mental
In the long run, or as a quick fix band-aid? Do both.
try getting regular sleep first and then see what happens.
Unless the person is suicidal or homicidal the best place for treatment is in an outpatient setting. Treatment works best of it combines medication and therapy.
Some of them are more nutty than their patients. Modern psychiatry is still based on Freudian theories, part of the problem was that Freud was also a bit of a nutter. It depends what your problems are but for 99.9% of people my advice would be to stay well clear of it as you are likley to come out more nuts then when you went in.

I think you would probably be better to get some kind of talking thereapy with a councellor or a psychologist, but be careful to get the right one as they can be a bit mixed up people as well. Also nlp can be useful for somethings.
What works best for me is my psychiatrist, meds and therapist. A mix of all three.
i think that it is important to find the right therapist for you and get meds. a mixture of both or even a support group can be so helpful to some people. it really depends on how severe your depression or whatever is. everyone needs different sources of help. make it so it suits you can you can handle it all. good luck.
It truly depends on the person.

Some people do well with Psychotherapy
(Talk and Medication)
Others do well with just talk.
Or medication only.
Some may need more extensive services.
Some less.

John 17:3
I was given pills, then came off them and had psychotherpy which I loved and finally became a happy productive person.
Psychologist.

You can always be referred to a doctor if you need meds.
Seeing an individual therapist once a week can be effective. But I think it depends on the type of services you need. If you are suicidal and unstable, an inpatient psych facility would be best. But if you are stable and just need someone to talk to and sort stuff out with, then a therapist would work well.
Everyone is different, The important thing is not to give up on yourself. I know this is hard, but if one type of treatment does not work consider another. Patience is difficult, but sometime necessary. I wish you well on your journey to health. It begins with a first step. Good luck!!
Self Help is the most effective accepting that you need help
All depends on how bad your condition is ? The brain can repair itself under the right conditions and with help ie. understanding friend , profesional help doctor, medication, you can learn to cope and even get better it all depends on you. just remember there are support groups, that can help, there is help . you are not alone and dont be alone, good luck . My wife suffers and I support her even though it hard at times.
But, learn as much as you can thats the key and never give up. Best wishes stationroadrider England uk.
It really depends on the person and what kind of problems they have.

I have chronic depression, I prefer just taking my Paxil and doing some things I like to do like meditation and my hobbies.

I'm not much on therapy myself, but I can see how it might be helpful for some people.
It really depends on what type of problems you have.

Psychiatrists deal with chemical imbalance in your brain.
Psychologists/ psychotherapists deal with problems that doesnt require the use of medications.
Sometimes it depends on your situation and circumstances--sometimes medicine alone does the job, sometimes just having someone to talk to does best..Myself I found that a combination of medication and counsel ling helped me come out of my depression along with my friends praying for me.
