Defintely talk to yoru doctor first. I am on effexor xl 225mgs daily and I know how shi* I feel if I miss a days worth the side effects so coming off altogether is hard.

Your doc will be able o give you the correct dose to take daily to wean yourself off. You really shoudl never stop taking them without your doctors advice even if you are ging to be aking a natural alternative as sometimes it can affect it.

Good luck
Talk to your doctor. It's a pretty involved thing.
dd, sweetheart, i was wondering where you've been. my heart cries for you, now knowing what you're going through. i'm sorry i can't really help you other than to say there are people who care about you, and when we all put our energy into it, we can help you through things. keep your faith.

blessed be )O(
Do not try to "wean" yourself off of Effexor or any other prescribed meds without the help and advice of your doctor and/or therapist. This can be very dangerous for your physical and mental health.

Contact your doctor and/or therapist for any medication changes.

Best of luck to you and wishing you the best of health.
I went cold turkey off this drug, I was on 375mg per day 6 years ago and I will never forget it. It worked, but I would not recommend it. Cutting your tablets in half works, do that for a week, then quarterly, until you eventually feel ok to take nothing.

You probably know the side effects you'll get, dizziness, tiredness, brain freezes.just listen to your body, get plenty of rest and drink lots of water. The side effects will go, trust me, it might be a struggle but it's worth it...it's a horrible drug.
Good luck!
Talk to the prescriber, thats there job.Its suck and can become costly to go see your doc but psychotropics like Effexor can have very suttle withdrawal symtoms and could really be confusing.I could tell you how to kick opiates as well as any doctor but I trust you should talk to your Psyc doc about a plan.If you dont have a good psyc doc find one.Good luck:)
I was taking Zoloft for a number of years; then I saw Legally Blond with Reese Witherspoon, and I stopped taking it almost instantly. In that movie, Reese's character, Elle stated "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't." Okay, this was supposed to be a funny line in the movie, but it made sense to me. So I started exercising and modified my diet. I haven't taken a zoloft pill in almost 3 years now. I still have slight mood swings, but no where near the kind that require medication
