What causes nightmares?!?
Question:
Answers:
Dreams are your mind playing and trying to work out issues. Maybe you're fighting depression or stress. I don't think there is any metaphysical "meaning" to them. Just try to be kind to yourself so your mind isn't working on things so ferociously when you sleep! Good luck.
Insecurities.
I really wish i knew the answer to this question! I have nightmares so often i now am on diazepam to knock me out! Helps, but it isn't the solution!
Dreams are our 'subconscious' mind trying to 'work out' things that our 'conscious' minds can't or won't work out. Right now the weather is 'weird' and everyone is talking about 'global warming' and your 'nightmares' are your subconscious trying to 'work out' what will happen if we can't and don't get global warming 'under control' ...
Should you 'worry' about these nightmares? Perhaps ... because each one of us needs to 'change the way' we live to be able to 'stop' global warming' ... but you are NOT going to have any 'control' over your neighborhood and people 'catching on fire' ... and it's going to be TOTALLY UP TO YOU to decide whether to become an 'outspoken voice' about stopping global warming, or just 'change yourself' and be 'happy.'
What 'causes' nightmares? The subconcious mind is never able to 'see and experience' the 'real world' ... it only gets the 'bleed over' from our conscious minds ... and because so much is 'imaginary' some of our dreams can be 'extremely frightening' ... until we wake up and 'analyze the dream' and can 'understand' that it's just 'doing it's work' and you may be 'worried' about what CAUSED this nightmare a bit 'more' than your conscious mind is 'willing to admit and deal with.'
Nightmares are part of your unconsciousness (what you are thinking while you are asleep). It is different than what you are thinking while awake which is the opposite your consciousness. You have no control but things in your daily life can have an effect on it. Some believe that dreams and nightmares can tell them the future.
There could have been a fire that effected you, or a friend of yours that you remember, it could be a repressed memory.
Other causes might be: stress, nightmarish events in real-life, Insecurities (as someone else answered), thinking of something frightening before bed, trauma, experiencing a loss of someone dear to you, pressure, overwork, lack of sleep (before you go to bed), major life changes, and just about anything that makes you extremely sad or extremely frightened.
You'd need to make appointments with a shrink or take a relaxing vacation (if you're stressed or overworked) to prevent having the nightmares any longer.
the food you eat could cause nightmares sometimes dreams have no meaning and sometimes they do
