Answers:
~Since you want "simple solutions", I'll give you the short version: just stop.
12 steps are fine as long as your not degraded or have to support something you don't.
I don't know but if you find out PLEASE let me know. But I KNOW that there are NO simple solutions. It took you a while to become addicted and it's going to take the rest of your life to overcome it. I also know that once an addict : always an addict. You my learn how to deal with your addiction , but you will die being one. I know that sounds awful but sadly it's the truth. I know because I am one too. I've been fighting this demon for 20 years now and i'm only 35
slowly wean your self off your adiction
I've never really been addicted to anything but know people who have been. Sometimes you need to get away from the crowd you are hanging with that may have those same addictions. Try to be with people who will motivate you and inspire you. People who truly care about you will help you to cope w/your addiction.
well you did make the choice to begin the addiction in the first place so you more or less have to deal with what you started now. but the only simple solution is if you REALLY and i mean genuinly want to stop your brain will be told that and your body will be allowed to let go of the addiction...but see most be dont genuinly want to stop...their subconcious is telling them they want tot do it.
If it were easy to kick it wouldn't be an addiction.
You need to find Jesus He will help you, He can set you free just call on Him & He will help you. Also these addictions are a "mask or an escape" so you probably need to find out why you have all these addictions. Undealt issues will keep coming up until there dealt with. Maybe also see a Counsellor & be truthful with them, noone is going to judge you.
quit and stick to it... it's about making a decision and sticking to it, that's all...

one day i just quit smoking and now find it a disgusting, filthy habit...
God. He is your only way out. Find Him then you will fine peace in your life. Let Him shows you how.
If you have a true addiction, there is no simple solution. It is something you have to watch out for for the rest of your life. If you want to avoid the 12 step thing, that's fine, but one 12 step program can be applied to all your problems. Just substitute a word here or there.

Basically you have to change how you think about things. No more hiding or running from your problems and learn to deal with not always being up and ready for fun. It's a long process and if you can find others who also want to recover go for it. I suggest you move, find friends who don't share your old addictions, and always be honest with yourself about what you're really thinking, not what you want to believe.

I wish you luck and willpower.
