Is it possible to develop work induced hypochondria?

Question:
I've never really been able to hold down a full time job much longer than 6 months because I always seemed to get "sick". I'd get severe headaches, or anxiety or stomach aches. I suffer from depression, and it seems that it comes back almost full force if I start working full time.

I recently returned to work (new employer full time after a year off for maternity leave. During this time, I had virtually no depressive symptoms. Not even post partum. Now that I am working, (only been 6 weeks so far) I feel my depression "coming back" and am starting to feel sick again, even though I am deemed healthy by my doctor. I used to think it was because previously, I didn't like my job or just was bored with it, but I love my new job and don't want to jeopardize my career with this company.

What can I do?

Answers:
I'd talk to my doctor and tell him/her what you just told us! Good luck! hugs!
It sounds like Panic Attacks to me. Some people just dont like to be around other people, confined, or knowing that you have to be there. I cannot stand to goto the grocery store. I will shop but when it comes to waiting in the check out line I freak out. I also cant stand for my office door to be closed at work.Just a little suggestion.
This has no such fear but it does have a lot of expectations for love and life that fail every year. Try to be more real... accept that you are an outsider ..don't chase the winners. Get a nice b/f. As long as you believe things are as they are not you will feel this way. It is all about the chemicals.
