See bipolar disorder, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... on page 5, and take the test.
You would start spending alot of money that you don't have on things you don't need. You also would be extremely wound up by being excited about things that make no sense, there are so many symptoms that they have become in some ways unique to each person. The list goes on though. I am a Manic Depressive Person and it is called Bi-Polar Decease (BPD). It will drive you crazy if you don't get on some medicine and seek professional help!
i take it you are NOT sitting on the window sil while you was writing this.
i would have thought you would have known
Manic depression (or bipolar disorder) involves mood swings, though some people with MD are predominantly depressed or predominantly manic. The amount of time spent in one mood or the other varies considerably.

With depression you may feel in a very low, miserable mood, where nothing can cheer you up. You would be likely to burst into tears for no apparent reason. Your concentration would be poor and even things you used to enjoy would not make you feel better. Your sleep pattern and appetite may be disturbed. There may be other unpleasant symptoms as well e.g. extreme negativity. Friends are likely to notice if you are in a severely depressed state as they would find it difficult to get much of a resonse from you and could not motivate you easily.

In a state of mania, you could be extremely over-active and irritatingly talkative, your ideas going off in all directions. Perhaps you might go shopping in a completely over-the-top way and buying all sorts of things you don't need; you may have cupbpards of things you have never even looked at. In addition you may interfere in other people's lives. Your sleep pattern could be disturbed and you may feel you have boundless energy, tiring yourself out but then finding it difficult to sleep. Friends may have difficulty coping with your state and may want to keep away. There may be other difficult to manage symptoms as well.

If you do think that you have a problem, you need to see your GP as soon as possible.
Because one day you would feel really upset about it and then the next day you'd laugh your head off.
Well I didn't know for a long time as my symptoms were not very extreme - just thought it was my personality. With hindsight it was pretty clear I had manic episodes - this means periods of highness when I did not sleep at all and would feel invincible. Then I would be suicidally depressed and unable to see the point to living. Because I had been like this for so long I did not take it seriously. If you suspect you ave some kind of mood disorder I would firstly write a daily diary of your moods and take it to your GP..
YOU would know , and so would others around you
get along to your docter
If you were you would be nuts like me he-he-he
