Question:
I was wondering if anyone can 'see' their own thoughts, as if they were right in front of them, obvious to all eyes? All my life, I have 'seen' my thoughts. They almost completely obstruct my vision, causing my eyes to divert away from what I see in reality - my eyes always appear unfocused and squinty as a consequence. I am short-sighted and I wear glasses. My prescription gets stronger every time I visit the opticians. I don't really see normal things in these apparitions either. I told my doctor this and she also is in the middle of debating whether or not I have autism, psychosis/schizophrenia or a combination of the two. I also constantly feel nervous and feel afraid of silly things, rather than actual danger - I wouldn't feel scared if a 7ft giant tried to kill me, but would be terrified senseless if a less-than-five-foot kid tried taunting me.
I also can't communicate effectively. I know I'm not sending out the right info you need to hear just now, but.
Answers:
I am the same way and have aspergers, a form of autism. It really sucks when it happens in class because then I can't remember what the teacher was talking about. What do you mean about seeing your thoughts though...? I see mine kind of like I'm watching a movie clip in my head. Unless you hear fake voices or have paranoia I doubt you are psychotic.
Maybe you just have a unique thinking pattern and social phobia. That's what it sounds like to me, or a form of autism. Look up different kinds of mental disorders online to see if any of them sound like you.
It's not serving you to think uncontrollably. You're identified with your mind as who you are. it isn't.
You're the awareness of your thoughts, that is what you are. You're not your thoughts.
I agree with Judy. You should google Asperger's Syndrome. There is info on the web. You are not lost and you do belong in reality. There is help. Good luck my friend.
