Amnesia is "loss of memory". It could be simple things or more in depth things that you no longer remember. Have your family ask you questions regarding things that you should know and if you have trouble, then you might have this problem.
How would you know if amnesia what ? Apparently you have amnesia so bad that you must have forgot to finish your question.

If you suffered a serious head injury?? Maybe some sorta neurological problem?? I would see a neurologist.
if you don't remember thing that you should remember like your name or what year it is or maybe even your mothers name
Depends on the type and severity. If a very mild case, you might not know. If severe, you still might not know, although you would certainly have clues that something strange was happening with you.
