Answers:
Your putting stress on yourself. Lay down, close your eyes, and fantasies something to make you fall asleep and don't set a alarm clock. Get up when you wake up.
I have always had horrible trouble sleeping. This is what I tried:

1. My pillow was too low, so my neck was uncomfortable. I fixed it by placing a smaller pillow over my low pillow.

2. I bought a sleeping mask and it really worked. I think it worked because when I opened my eyes it was so dark that I didn't find any need to keep my eyes open, so I fell asleep!
See insomnia, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... on page 3: get an hour out in the sunlight, and keep awake until around 8pm, employing the advice on sleeping tips. Exercise, and keep occupied.
You didn't mention any depressive mood, but I had trouble sleeping when I was very depressed. No matter what, a doctor is the right person to help treat insomnia. Tell your doctor all of your symptoms so that he or she can figure out the best treatment.
