Is not taking my depression pills considered hurting myself?

Question:
i havent taken them in days, is this concidered hurting myself?

Answers:
Taking medication is your choice, and as such not taking it is also your choice. However, if you are starting to feel more and more depressed and experience thoughts about hurting yourself in any way, then this would not be your best maneuver right now. Speak with the doc that prescribed you the meds, and get his/her insight as to what your next move should be. Good Luck!
YES! you should never stop taking perscribed medication suddently on your own or without consultation with your doctor or psychiatrist.
Yes because you are hurting yourself mainly mentaly which can lead to self mutiliation. So please take them so you can get better. Good luck sweetie.
Unfortunately when you are on perscription meds you can never just stop. Trust me! I have tried on several occasions because I was sick and tired of being so dependant on them. Well, I ended up in the hospital twice and got extremely low. Talk to your doctor please. Good luck

I do know of people who have felt well enough to gradually ease off anti depressants (this was on Citalopram). They started by taking half the dose for a month then stopping all together. It did work for them but they kept hold of the anti depressants in case of need.
My advice to you is to talk over with a doctor, discuss whether you are feeling well enough to stop taking them. If you are not over depression then you should not by any means stop taking them. This can cause you more harm.
If the anti depressants you are taking are not getting on with you there are other ones you can try and herbal remedies such as St John's Wart.
One of the greatest vegetables is actually good for depression, avacados.
Not necesarily. Maybe you want to deal with your depression the natural way. If you don“t want to take pills try other things like acupuncture that treats and cures depression
yep and that medicine is going to be very ineffective if they make you start it up again. why don't you want to take your medicine? if you don't think it works for you or you have a bad reaction to it, tell your doctor you need to try something else or switch to a different doctor. it's bad for you to stop. if you needed a medicine for it at one point, you shouldn't make a hasty decision on your own to just stop it all of a sudden. talk to the doctor first and they can ween you off that med if you don't need it anymore. otherwise yeah you are hurting yourself cuz it's a medicine just like any other kind like insulin and everything. take it seriously please
