Doggy Depression?

Question:
We recently got a little puppy addition to our family, but my older dog Scruffy doesn't seem to like him. She barks and growlsa t him when Oreo approaches her stuff and I know that she protective over her things. Lately she's been very depressed though. I know it's related to the new puppy, but I don't know what to do to cheer her up. I take her out a lot more now, but it doesn't seem to help. Is there anything I can do for Scruffy (besides taking Oreo away)?

Answers:
Ask Cesar Millan http://www.dogpsychologycenter.com... :-)
Scruffy may feel as though being replaced in your affections: demonstrate that this is not so, by always greeting, petting, feeding, & grooming first. Get books on dog training/psychology from your bookstore, library, or Amazon.com
You're doing the right thing about taking Scruffy out a lot more now...all I can suggest is that you give even more loving attention to Scruffy...ie. play ball with her, give her massages and speak softly and lovingly to her. [and watch that she doesn't eat ''Oreo'' because our dog likes to to eat cookies whole].
