What is a good way to deal with disappointment?

Question:
I got some disappointing news today, and I know it's not the end of the world or anything but everything just doesn't seem as good anymore. I know I have a lot of reasons to be thankful, and I've been great at hiding my disappointment all day, but even staying busy hasn't helped erase the disappointment. What can I do to start feeling like my happy self again? thanks!

Answers:
Give yourself a time limit on how long you are allowed to wallow in self-pity. Pamper yourself, and have a good cry, eat comfort foods (ice cream, chocolate), etc. Then, when your time is up, dry your eyes and do the next thing. You don't say what it is or how serious it is, but life does go on, and you have to live it.
Focus on something else, preferably on something not bad. Cute boys (or girls), music, a good movie, cute boys. Etc.
Remember everything happens for a reason. You can't see it now but you will in the future.
I know how you feel.
There are many ways to handle your situation.
Think about your dream as to what you want to do with your life.
Now tell yourself that no matter what, you are going to achieve it and you are positive that it is yours.
Visualize that you have achieved it. Now come back to present and tell to yourself that none of the present disappointments matter, cause you know what? you are gonna make it.
i have delt with alot of dissapointments in my life but you just have to get past it. focus on all the good things that happened to you and the things that have made your day even just a little tiny bit better. you have to just forget about it and move on with your life.
