Has anyone out there had someone go off lexipro cold turkey and become manic and depersonalized?

Hmm.. It seems to make more sense that anyone coming off of Lexapro would be at risk for depression (cold turkey or not) Lexapro is an anti-depressant and and is more likely to cause mania while on it rather than while going off of it.

You can not go off anti depressants cold turkey. There are many bad side effects. It takes your body time to get use to the drug and it also takes your body time to ween off of the drug. You can get anxious, depressed, chills, bad dreams etc. Talk to the Dr that perscribed the drug.
It's a dangerous thing to do! Seizures are possible, too. See the antidepressant websites, and "the road back: Lexapro" and read page 2, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris...
You should never try to go off your meds cold turkey. If you don't want to be on Lexipro then ask your doctor to take you off it. He/she will do so over a few weeks.
However if this is because you can't afford your meds then you need to visit your local ER as soon as you can. Most will give you enough meds to taper off or at least enough to keep you ok untill you can visit a free clinic.
Yeah, I stopped taking lexapro all of a sudden, and it really screwed with me. At first I was extremely tired and dizzy all the time, and then all of a sudden I started getting really hyper. Don't do it.
