What is it called when the devil sleeps over you?

a panic attack...Go to a counselor so that s/he can give you some techniques to try so that this won't be so scary for you. Try not to think of it as the devil either. This just adds to the fear factor of it. Did I mention that this is also a common problem for people to have? You are not alone in this.
Bad pizza before bed ; D
Its called sleep paralysis, many people link it to a myth with the devil but its nothing its just you waking up so quickly from REM stage of sleep and you become partially paralyzed for a brief moment.
Interesting turn of phrase--yep--what nightmare said--there's that moment between deep rem & awake where you feel paralized. Can't move, can't scream, --froze--it seems interminable, but is really just a fraction of a second.
I would start praying and not stop until the feelings stop.
Dear Maya. I do believe darkness and evil exists. A year and a 1/2 ago I experienced it. I went to a witch and she attached evil spirits to me, I started having psychotic symptoms and a deep depression. I learned that during the night some dark spirits may want to take over our bodies. You can do some things to protect from spirits. Light up some candles and incense, put on some music, keep the lights on, take a shower...spirits hate water, drink or eat coconut, put some cups or glasses filled with water and salt inside your room, put some garlic in the four corners of your room. When you feel that the "devil sleeps over you" star praying to God and surround yourself with gold or white light (imagining a light on you). I learned this tips through a lot of reading and experience. This way lightness can win over darkness. Argentox2@yahoo.com
Its called a Hypnagogic Hallucination. I have them and they can be more frightening than real life sitatuations...not sure if there is anything you can do about it though.
Don't worry or listen to some of these answers. You have nothing to worry about or be afriad of. No a demon isn't trying to get you. What you described is Sleeping Paralysis. It happens when your brain awakes from REM state but your body paralysis persists. This leaves the person fully aware but unable to move. It is completely normal and has happened to me a few times.
Prayer and say this - "There is nothing around me but God with me" 100 times.
I'm wishing you well and sending love your way. Hope this helps, Warm Regards, and thank you for your question.
