Not really. I'm sure it is more pronounced in our society, because of how crazy and fast paced our society is. But true OCD is a real disorder that causes people extreme grief.
No, I have many mental health problems but definitely not OCD. Unless you call sitting, looking into space, not doing anything, crying and rotting from the inside out OCD, which i know it isn't!! I've got LCDD Lazy Compulsive Depressive Disorder!! :)) Never seem to get anything done!!
No I dont think eveyone has it some ppl are more prone to problems with anxiety & things like OCD, thats my opinion :-)
I think there is a spectrum of behavior on which we all exist, like maybe at one end a person is comforted by, say, feeling like they have clean hands, or by counting sheep at night. At the other end -- the real disorder end -- a person can't ever feel comfortable withOUT doing certain things.
Whether or not something is a true mental illness usually has to do with how much it disrupts "normal functioning." so if you feel like washing your hands every time you shake someone else's hand -- no real worries. But if you can't bring yourself to shake someone's hand, or you have to wash your hands exactly ten times after every handshake, then maybe the disease is real for you.
Hope this helps!
Nope. Everyone can be a *little* obsessive at some point in life. Everyone can be a *little* compulsive, too. Everyone has a little of many psych disorder symptoms. That doesn't mean they have a disorder. A disorder is when the trait interferes with your life, becomes a significant problem, prevents you from living fully.
