If you have obsessive compulsive disorder what kind of job you have?

Question:
I have obsessive compulsive disorder, and often get fired. what kind of job do you think is suitable for me? If you have obsessive compulsive disorder what kind of job you have?

My symptoms is that I keep on checking things over and over again. For example, I keep on checking the door lock over and over again to see if it locked properly, so that I get a right feeling that it locked properly. I also check the light switch over and over again to see if it closed properly, to get the right feeling.

This is going to be different for everyone. It is going to depend on the severity of the OCD symptoms and what they are and how it effects ones life. Some people cannot even leave their homes because their symptoms are so bad. I suffer from OCD and my jobs in the past consisted of being in clerical positions where I had to deal with numbers but that is only because that is my thing. I am not good at math but yet I enjoy repetitive numbers. So I was really good with doing inventory and keeping up with purchasing and receiving and these are things that you must check daily also. I don't guess they were helping me if you were to ask a Dr. but at the time i was able to work and I did a good job. I hope you are able to get a job soon. There are many medications specifically helpful for OCD if you are interested in going that route. One being Luvox. Therapy has helped me a great deal. I wish you the best~
Maybe this doesn't suit your exact symptom, but maybe an editor of scripts, articles etc. would be suitable as they have to check things again and again to see if they are done properly. I'm no expert though, it's just what I think.
unfortunately for some people OCD is a full time job.
