How do antidepressants affect the feelings of anxiety for events that...?

Question:
would cause anxiety in any case?

I lost a great deal of money on the stock market yesterday, around 5% of all my savings. Whereas a small loss does not make me anxious, I know that had I not been taking antidepressants this type of loss would cause depressive symptoms such as insomnia (no sleep last night) and desire to drink water - the fight or flight response.

But now I am on antidepressants, which work for me, I have had this relapse exactly the same as I would have had in the past.

Is it likely to disappear in the next few days once I have got used to the idea of the loss, or could it disappear faster, or slower?

Thanks

Anti-depressants are supposed to take away the unfounded anxiety, but still leave you with enough emotion to react to the things that warrant real anxiety.

Let me tell you, the stock market has been doing horribly, and my fiance, who has no anxiety disorder at all started telling me he was feeling dizzy, spaced out, and had tingling legs! He is a wreck over losing his money! It's normal!
some anxiety can be expected, unless youre in a vegetative state! i had problems on anti-depressants of no feelings at all.
but expect some anxiety in life, it throws us all curve balls
anti-depressants don't shut of your emotions, they just dull them down as someone who has an anxiety problem are overly anxious all the time, and the meds just bring you to a normal level of emotions, your still going to feel a sense of anxiety on these as anyone without a mental health problem suffers anxiety at some point in there lifes when something happens that they deem a problem
im sure if you keep taking your medication you will be fine but remember a relapse is not a failure on your part its just your journey to recovery
good luck
Unless you needed to sell right now, hang in there and you're holdings will most likely go back up in value.
Some anti-depressants help with anxiety but some do not. There are medications that deal specifically with anxiety and insomnia.
If the feelings persist for more than a few days, please see your Pdoc. You may need to have your medications reevaluated and tweaked.

Good luck! :)
