Why do some people need or crave an outlet/adrenaline rush?

Question:
I am one of those people that needs to FEEL something once in a while. And while I used to attain that rush through self-destrutive measures, I have been able to find positive outlets (running and other exercise). Why do you think some people need that outlet? Just for pure adrenaline? Is this how they cope with stress? Why only some people?

Answers:
Your not alone! I crave certain things or feelings constantly-whether it be food, drink, drug, etc. I always feel like I need something more. Once you've had a certain high or boost, there's not much to compare it to & you constantly crave it. Caffeine, nicotine, if only our bodies could stay pure, then we wouldn't crave the things that we feel like we need. I wish I could help you, I'm just letting you know that your not alone.
adrenaline is great when you work out! it's like a stimulant and your eyes open wider and your brain is like "Wowie, gimme some more uh dat!"
I think some people may even become addicted to it. I hate amusement park rides, they scare me to death, I mean I scream uncontrollably, not fun at all, but when I have nightmares and I'm terrified and I wake up with my heart pounding in my chest, I enjoy it! I really love nightmares. I saw a guy on tv once that jumped off of buildings, he said he was terrified, and he loved it.
