Celexa itself takes about a month to fully work and regulate your system. There are days that your going to feel bad and days your going to feel good... but as long as you keep up with it within a month or longer you'll see your self having more good days then bad.
If the valium is not actually helping your with anxiety then you can always switch to a new med. But Celexa is used for both anxiety and depression. So I would suggest to you to use the valium when you first have signs of anxiety.
I take Lexapro which is a a derivative of Celexa and I use it for anxiety at first sign and its really helpful. You may try that.
Good for you that you are dealing with your anxiety. have anxiety/depression as well. From my own experience, take a valium only when the anxiety comes on (not on a daily basis). I used to be on Clonazepam and took it regularaly and eventually it didn't help me at all as I was so used to being on it. I can relate about the hygiene going out the window. Sometimes I just don't care about my appearance at all. It's so hard to get over it but please be patient. Good luck to you!!!!!!
It can take up to three months for the meds to kick in. Hang in there. I have done Celexa and it worked great for me. Just stick with it.
I go through the same as you. However i diazapam is to relax you and the celexa is to help change thoughts.i would take it as you were told and see if it works.how long have you been on the 2 medications?feel free to email me.Good luck
