memory hmm?? as in studies or memories with friends/family/close relatives??
one thing i know for sure is that, if you are trying to memorise something from a text then you've gotta read it over n over again while you are writing it. You remember 70% of what u see, 10 % of what u read, 5-15 percent of what u write or hear.
I suggest if u're talking about academics, then u should revise regularly and before u revise ur work, make sure there's good ventalation in your room or the atmosphere is just right(not too cold not too hot) and you're sitting in a comfortable position and wearing comforatble clothes these will help your body and relax so that your brain can focous on what you are trying to memorise instead of focusing at the umcomfortable area on your body and it could get distracting cus u may be reading but u won't be reading exactly.
While revsing, cover the area u've just revised and sya it out loud if u can remember it, if u can't then read it again n again.
Another way, u can just read through the paragraphs and while reading, make questions and answer by urself. Doing this can alsp help u remember more.
If you're doing maths, study the formula first and check the examples and tips and do the excercise- daily if u've got time.
Even if there's no tests, quizzes, exams, look into ur notes and text book regularly. Just because it is holiday doesn't mean u don't have tolook into them. When doing something other than revising, u got stuck at a point where u've memorised before but can't remember now, look into it right away. You don't think about it twice, u'll forget it easily. so just in case think about it at least three times ^ ^
if you're taking about keeping memories with friends, photos and videos are really good items. when u've got them develpoed, add captions with dates and a small descrption about the time the picture was taken and keep them all safe in albums. Develop ur photos with negetives if possible ^^ I hope This helps even though I said a bit too much. ^___^
As you have posted this question on the net, I guess that you are in your teens or above. At this age, the best way is to try yoga (pls. get proper advice before beginning the exercises).

Alternate and additional methods:

- stop watching cartoon channels (proven to reduce memory power - recent research)
- try eating 'Okra' (Bhendi) regularly
- try 'Pranayama' in the early hours.

- there are memory improving pills available in the market (consult a physician before taking any pills)

All the Best.
1.Learn one music instrument like harmonium/hawain guitar etc.
2.Help your family members in household work
3. Increase reading and writing.
4.Play with a young child at least half and hour in a day.
5.Have balanced food each four hours in a day.
6.Have sound sleep of seven hours at night only. Avoid late night.
7.Walk fifteen minutes twice daily.
sleep between 5-8 hours at night, go to sleep after 22:00, not after midnight; the more dreams you've got, the better

eat more proteins in the morning and more carbohydrates at rest

i improved my memory a lot after i started medicine faculty, because i had to use it a lot

and what you need to remember, repeat it oftenly
Challenge yourself mentally either in your studies or everyday life. The brain is like a muscle, you can build it slowly. But remember: use it or lose it. Don't give up.
hire an assistant and make him/her to remember things for you.
wakeup early in the mornin, meditate for minimum 5minutes,then have a cup of hot water, then do some sort of workout/exercise - walk, jog, swim, yoga.
Complete this routine with a healthy breakfast.
Try adding this tea called "SAGE" in ur breakfast as it does seem to have some effect on memory.
Have a great day :)
Now all you need to do is understand things, and once you do, there is no way that you will forget it.
Also,
Do read a book a day, and sleep by 10-10:30pm.
how to make memory strong?
If you want to be able to memorize faster, then learn to use the memory systems. These systems include the peg method, link method, Roman Room method, and so on. They really work.

A easy-to-read book that explains these methods and gives lots of examples is "The Memory Book" by Harry Lorayne. If you are a student, his other book, "Super Memory, Super Student" is even better. It explains how the memory systems can be used to memorize class work like chemistry, literature, or math.

To improve your memory in general, you will probably need to make some lifestyle changes. There has been a lot of research lately about memory that seems to indicate you should approach the problem from more than one angle.

This research shows that exercising daily, improving the quality of your sleep, eating brain foods and taking brain vitamins, and meditating can measurably improve memory. You can also play brain games like sudoku, crossword puzzles, and chess to help keep your mind sharp.

You can do all this for almost no money. The two books I mentioned are only about $10 each. Vitamins and brain foods are cheap, and the other lifestyle changes are free. And you can easily find free brain games on the Internet.
