Well, did this problem begin recently or has it been around for at least 10 years? If it's a recent problem, you definitely don't have ADHD, although no doubt you're under a lot of psychological stress.
Anyways, either way it's okay to talk to your usual doctor and tell him what's going on. You can then ask for a refferal to a psychiatrist or psychologist or decide that your GP can treat you. It really depends on what you and your doctor are comfortable with.
the only thing to change here is your diet..you dont need medication..
go on a radical health kick...eat healthy foods...avoid..artificial colors..additives.etc..eat fresh fruit and veg..avoid junk food cola and caffine..
you will get well...
U know what you should do. Go to WebMD.com and take their survey. Search Adult ADHD.take the survey and see what it recommends. And.talk to more than one doctor because it is a very philosophic dilema. Some doctors never medicate.some do a great job with medicating. Remember to try more than one to find which suites you if you do have ADHD and you do medicate.
In the mean time...it is said that coffee works to combat the problem that ADHD ppl face.
I suggest you start by going to your doctor. They can then refer you if necessary to a therapist of psychiatrist. To have someone say to you (especially on this website) that you just need to change your diet, or direct you in some other way besides a specialist in this field should be ignored!
Self Diagnosis is rarely correct. Talk to a psychologist or a therapist or someone similar who is familar with ADHD.
It's best to see a psychiatrist because he/she could properly test you for ADHD and write out a prescription if you require medication. Tell your shrink exactly what your symptoms are and that you think you may have ADHD. That gives them something to go on. Good Luck!
