Was Cho Seung Hui preventable? What if all he wanted was his record expunged/deleted?
Question:
What if in his next lifetime, he repeats his fate, but it can be prevented just by doing him a favor (albeit "unearned") and that he just wants a charitable "second chance" at life, for he feels sad about having a criminal record, when he lived for 22 years without any trouble, but during his senior year ran into stubborn battles with the D.A.
Could you "appease a terrorist" to spare the victims?
Or is it a lose-lose situation and weakens the dignity of the "stonewall criminal justice system (also represented as 1. d4 f5)
I am a psych major, and want to do a research paper on this subject, without revealing my stance on this topic. Please, general public, either state a short argument for or against this purely-speculative-purely-hypo... conjury. (psphc or p.s.p.h.c.)
Thanks and I will award 10 points to the best answer. and will give multiple "thumbs up" (equivalent to 1 point per unique thumb up) to all those who score good.
Answers:
This guy was deeply and severely troubled. I just don't think something as trivial as appeasing him for a short while could magically "fix" all of his problems. Something like a second chance doesn't mentally and psychologically balance a person, so I don't think that this could have been prevented in giving him a second chance.
