danielle, i can relate. i am an addict myself. i have been clean for about 13 yrs. now and then i still think about it from time time. you have that addictive personality like myself.i just think of all the people i hurt and lied while going through about 16,000 dollars.yeah, thats right, blowed my entire savings on that s&%#! it gets easier with time. i can still be out somewhere and smell a hint of construction glue and adhesives and it will bring back awful memories . just hang in there. just remember, idle hands make sinful hands.if you need someone to talk to you can e-mail me. macdaddy31516-1@hotmail.com
only if you don't take enough of it.
Thats why people go to group for that kind of thing.
if you only used it recently the depression goes away soon, dont worry about it.
it will not haunt you for the rest of your life, for that to happen you need to have used it more often
Are you addicted? How much do you 'need' a day?
You can try just once or twice and it not affect the rest of your life.
no it wont. just dont do it again. the last time i did it was more then a year ago and never wanna do it again. hate it coz i love myself.
if it was a one off, you could just have some temptations for a few months.
but if it was a lot of sniffing, i pity you because you will have a lot of pain
if youve only tried it alittle bit, you will be fine!! trust me
How long have you been doing it? I had a stint where I liked to do cocaine - it only lasted about 3 months. That was 6 years ago, and I've had no desire to do it ever again. I can't answer for any long term use...
from what I've heard, yes, it's a struggle to say no every day, even for people who have been clean for years still think about it. Instead of getting mad at yourself, be a part of the solution. Talk to other kids and tell them to stay away from it. Give lectures to schools.
You're right, you never should have started. But now that you did...You are doing the right thing by stopping. It shouldn't haunt you because you are doing the right thing now.
Maybe you should hang around with a better group of people who don;t feel the need to do hard drugs. If you hang around positive happy people, you won't be reminded of cocaine all the time.
There is this little part in you brain that is all cravings. Now that you have tried it your brain thinks you need it. One way to loose that craving is to get amnesia...Another keep telling yourself not to do it. Try eating chocolate every time you crave cocaine. It will work. I never think about cocaine anymore. :)
No, you won't have the urge forever. It's like any other drug or mood altering thing/behavior, if you just stay away from it the urge lessens. It's really not that big of a deal, you're not a junkie.
Well, not having been there, it's hard to say for sure, but I can't imagine that this urge will be there the rest of your life! It may take some time to rid your body of the physical urges and a little longer for your mind to 'forget' it but keep resisting the urge and you'll be just fine in no time! Stay positive! Good for you making this change, by the way! You'll never regret it.
Depends how long you were on it, just keep strong and find something else that will take up that space in your mind. It will eventually leave you, but psycologically thinking to yourself 'will this ever go away' is only going to make the urges worse. When you wake every day go to your bathroom mirror and say 'i'm healthy, and I feel great' 10 times and smile and walk away - meet friends, work out, go for a walk, anything.
My cousin defeated this and you can to. Good luck!!
How long were you using for and how much??
Sounds like you are seriously addicted, please seek professional help and get on the way to recovery!!
The urge will lession over time but at times fo stress it may become more intense again. Will it haunt you for the rest of your life? I can't tell you what tomorrow will bring only that I have to live day to day and pray I do my best.
It will take a few years but the alternative is a short life dominated by one fixation. If you say no everyday in 6 months it will be easier and about twice as easy every 6 months until you wonder what the fuss was about, or heart disease, maybe prison, no kids/marriage/life. If nothing else substitute pot and or alcohol at least they don't always take everything from you.
HELLO AGAIN DANIELLE,
Once again I want to tell you how proud of you that I am. You are definitely headed in the right direction.....Presently, there are no effective meds for reducing cocaine cravings, however, some meds are being tested as we speak. They are Amantadine and Bromocriptine and may help to reduce the patient's cravings, increase energy, and normalize sleeping patterns particularly among those with the most serious withdrawal problems. But remember to watch out for depression, cravings and overdose. Maybe you can set up an appointment with your family practice doc to help you out during your withdrawal period. Again, I want to wish the very best for you and may God bless and keep you safe and happy in the future...keep up the good work !
dont worry relax
