Why do people change when they are around other people?

I believe its in a persons subconcious to act differently around their friends and peers including other groups such as their family. Take me for example. When I'm around my friend I act totally immature and stupid. When I'm by myself or around my family I act mature and really intelligent.

Humans are naturally adaptive.
Generally, when people are around different groups of people they will display slightly different ways of acting, including the way they speak.
It is a subconscious attempt to "fit in."
either they're trying to make a better impression of themselves... or trying to insult other people...
I think because people radiate different brain waves when they are with other people..maybe subconscioucsly, the person of subject may pick up different vibes without knowing it..different people radiate different vibes..
YOu have different feeling with different people around you you will be so kiddish with children and very mature when you talk with your boss.

People are afraid they will not be viewed as acceptable by others -- so they believe that if they act or speak in a different manner they will be accepted.
example: Gang speech and behavior
They try to conform their personality to suit the people they are with at the time.Its called insecurity.
Peer pressure. They want to be like other people or make people think they are cool.
