The best advice I can give to you is when you know your Mom or Dad isn't going to be home, spend the night somewhere else. Or beg your parents for a watch dog. That is horrible!! I feel so sorry for you. Arm yourself with a baseball bat and some pepper spray...keep the spray under your pillow. Also, keep your bedroom door shut and locked if you have a lock on it. My aunt used to keep a glass with some forks and spoons in it by her windows so that she would hear someone if they tried to get in. The best defense is to take self defense. It will help you not to feel like a victim, but will give you the confidence to fight back if you need to. Good luck sweetie.
Poor!!. But that already happen . Ask your parents to put a alarm in your house and when you're alone set in.
Get a Gun.
LOL.
or just keep a weapon nearby.
like if you hear glass breaking and someone breaking in.
then you get that bat ready to swing.
or go learn Muay Thai (kickboxing)
an elbow to the face is as effective as a baseball bat to the face.
but i recommend getting a gun.
I am sorry that happened to you. The idea of having a good watch dog, or alarm system is not a bad idea. I would not keep a gun around, at your age. Even a little "ankle biter" can be a good friend, and deterrent. I happen to prefer Rottweilers, they are very family oriented. When properly trained, and raised, can be great fun to have around, as well.
I had 2 when I owned my own home. Someone broke into the house around 2AM. I did not need to tell them twice, to leave the house, one of the Rotties got a piece of the guys rear end and the other got his arm. They can be vicious, but (if properly trained) in ONLY the right setting. Both of these dogs would not bite a biscuit under normal circumstances. You go messing around with their family, and they can go bonkers for you.
