Is this a little insane?

Question:
I've always been a little crazy, but I sometimes wonder if I'm actually a little mental sometimes. You see, I feel a litle split mentally, sometimes I'll be in a good mood (if something good happens, if I' having a good time w/ friends, etc.). Other times, I'll be almost a totally different person, it's like a darker side that comes out usually if something bad happens, or even if I'm just bored or alone. When I' in a darker mood, I'm usually more creative (I start thinking of poetry, drawing, etc.), but I'll feel abnormal in a way. Sometimes I feel spiteful towards everyone, angry, sad, and insignificant. I can easily picture myself doing something abslolutely insane, and I feel like having a psychotic episode. I have thoughts of death, sometimes a curiosity as to what lies after life, other times suicidal thoughts. I have sort of an obsessive personality; I enjoy something alot and learn as much as I can about it as I can for a while, until I find something new to focus on...

Answers:
If you are truly concerned about these episodes, you can see your family doctor & tell him/her what is going on with you.
If you are a teenager, alot of this stuff is normal kind of stuff. Some of it is not.
If you are an adult, seek professional help.
Look up bi-polar on the internet. Do a search about it. See if it sounds like what you are experiencing.
The part that really sends up a red flag is the suicide thing. If you really have thoughts of hurting yourself or anyone else ( I mean seriously), talk to your doctor.
Life is so worth living. Yes, life does get tough, but the rewards far out weigh the hard times.
If you have to wait to get in to see your doc....while you are waiting...confide in a very close friend or family member. You need to be able to call on someone you truly trust & who WILL help you when you are feeling desperate.

Please, don't let yourself get beyond help. Take care of yourself. Be safe & be healthy. :)

If you are insane, than I am as well, because I have the exact same tendencies.
Sounds a bit like bipolar, severe depression, or Asbergers (high functioning autism), or a combo of each. You can find informal, non-diagnostic tests online, but it is best, especially if these behaviors and feelings inhibit your life, to seek psychological or psychiatric help.
no but u might be suffering from bipolar depression i recommend looking into that
I feel the same way sometimes :)
I actually think that this is you, as a person, trying to figure out who you are - changing your mood and personality slightly to see how you deal with certain situations. You may be bored with your life or yourself, in a way, and just trying to (unconsciously) mix it up.
I really think this is normal for people to go through. Expecially if your have some bad luck or anything disrupts your life. But I really think you need to speak to a councler about how you feel they can be streight forward with you and help you through your tough times
cooooooooooooooool
Actually, no- you sound pretty normal for a young person. Although we don't talk about our various moods and variations of temprament, everyone has them. Young people, teens especially. Of course you are in a good mood when you are having a good time, and feel rather sour in bad mood times. Your span of attention for new things is pretty normal too- patience is associated with age, not youth after all. Creativity in the darker moods is simply your stress outlet and coping mechanism- nothing mysterious there at all. Even the passing suicidal thoughts are probably nothing more than the passing dark thought for the most part. Wondering about mortality and what lies beyond are also part of the normal human experience. It just means you have time to ponder, and the luxury of being able to do so. Unless you find yourself feeling depressed on a regular basis, and having suicidal thoughts that include considering methods, you don't sound like you have a real problem. Of course, you can always go see a professional for an opinion. Currently it's really in vogue to be bipolar, or suffer depression, and we are really focused on making problems out of the most minor things. It sounds more like you could do with a productive hobby and learning to occupy your time in more profitable ways than simply sitting around trying to analyze yourself. Enough people have problems without normal folks second guessing their every thought and mood.
Bipolar...speak to a therapist to make sure that is not what it is. Just to make sure you are not driven into the suicidal side of your thinking. If you didn't have this aspect i'd say, you are normal but, with the suicidal part i'd say Bipolar.

Talk to a therapist for sure and see what they say, it can't hurt just to see what they say. The worst they can say is, Nope you're ok, just don't obsess.
This might sound like a sterotypical answer but Ive seen it a lot. Depending on your age and situation, it can actually be hormonal. If you are between the age of 13-19. It can be your brain is trying to catch up with your changing hormones. Very typical, but you need to pay attention your feelings and run rampant with anything you might feel you need to do (like commit suicide or hurt some one) Can be a temporary or even a perminant mental issue like bi-polar or depression. Where you need to take medication for. You might not like to excersise but doing running (cardio and lifting weights) can ease your mind. Its been proven. I dont mean to sound too much like Tom Cruise and totally be against medication but excersise can be a safer solution. This can be serious, consult your family and/or a doctor soon. we need you to be around for along long time so we can answer your questions and for you to answer ours!
I have been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, and focus on one thing and one thing only a lot of the time, I also hate direct eye contact.

It sounds like you're a completely normal teenager. I write in a diary when I'm sad and I do homework/talk on MSN when I'm happy/normal. Sometimes I feel really really insignificant and useless when I'm on my own, or with friends, which makes me feel really sad, and I usually write about that in my diary. I have given a lot of thought into what comes after death (Sadly, I would have to say that's why I'm still here) and I also think about how I want to kill myself (With no intention of actually doing it).

When I'm feeling down I get really stroppy, if anyone walks into my room I yell at them or throw stuff at them, even though I'm not really angry. Sometimes I feel really down when out drinking with friends and just sit down, and don't feel like talking to anyone (tbh I feel like killing myself).

I haven't found the solution yet, apart from refusing to feel bad (going to watch TV for a few hours, and if I still feel down going and keeping myself busy on the computer), I've found keeping myself busy when Im feeling upset is very important.
PLZ get some help "maybe" bi polar w/ the ups & the suicide stuff make me think so But I cant diagnosis u so make sure its not chemical thats what "they "say of bi-polar LIKE you said having a psychotic episode I just want you to be ok reach out & get some help
Sounds a little like BPD. having extreme black and white thinking, suicidal thoughts, and yes even psychotic episodes can happen too. I am not a professional though the the disorder is not diagnosed until adulthood. Your probably just fine, and it is just a part of growing up.
