What are ways I can make myself happier & think more positive?
Question:
Answers:
Start an intense exercise program. By kicking your own butt in a gym or running or whatever, you will suddenly become happy.
Ok, at least this works for me. I am a worrier and slightly depressed. Intense exercise (running, biking, weights) 6x per week is the only thing that snaps me out of it. I worry about dying in my sleep or catching some kind of disease. When I exercise really hard (hard enough to want to puke) things start to change in my brain. I become tougher and happier.
Change the way you think about htings. Every night write down 5 things that you are thankful for...Five people who have helped you... and five things that are going well. It may take you a few weeks to be able to fill in all the blanks because you have trained yourself to look for the negative. The thought has to come before the behavior or the feeling...So happy training!
Start by loving yourself!
You can't expect others to love you and see you in a positive light if you can't see yourself like that first. Think of all the great things you've done and be proud of every thing you have accomplished. Start hanging out with positive people, go to the gym, take some arts & crafts, dance classes, etc. You should never think yourself as being somebody negative.

This is going to surprise you--it sounds bass ackwards--but it works for me.
All the problems in my life are my fault. Events or actions outside my control may have had some effect, but for the most part there is something I could have done. If I couldn't have done anything--doesn't matter--what matters is what I am going to do about it now.
You'd think that thinking like that would make you down on yourself, but actually it is liberating. Instead of blaming your psycho ex boyfriend, bad luck, your boss or your mother, you blame yourself. Why this helps is that you are the one thing in your life you have control over--you can actually change you! So if you take the blame for your problems in life, now you have hope that you can change it!
