Why are sociopaths thought of as evil??

Question:
I completely see their point..id someone is a weakling/b*stard then they deserve to be punished. If someone has been an arsehole to you, they deserve the revenge they get and ect.
No point in crying about thing, why dont people just get the revenge on the wanker who pissed them off in the first place??!! I dont have a problem with killing for revenge.why is it that everyone thinks this is so bad?
Give me your opinions:-D

Answers:
Don't mean to be nitpicking (even though I'll do it anyway), but a lot of people diagnosed as antisocial or psycho/socio paths, don't necessarily kill people. And, a lot of people who do kill are not necessarily psychopaths. Sometimes sociopathy doesn't result in murder, but perhaps a string of minor criminal records and instabilty, or simply someone who doesn't feel guilty about anything they've ever done. I don't think a true sociopath gives a damn; they don't necessarily have that motivation to be a serial killer.

Other than that, I have taken your standpoint before. I get severely angry and want to go kill certain people. I don't even care if it's 'evil', it's hardly an issue by that time.

But, at the same time...I doubt killing the people who have hurt me would really solve anything. So, why wreak revenge just to get yourself in jail when it might not make you feel better anyway? I'd much rather have them around in this life to torture indefinitely :P
You sound like your rambling, but, from what little I could make out of what you said, your question was why is killing someone for revenge bad? What did that person do? If they killed a family member then I could see that, but anything else is just being crazy. Killing someone is, oh, I don't know, PRETTY SERIOUS! Have you lost all sense of reality?
Because in many ways, we have not progressed passed the medieval mindset.
I think you need to check your definition of "sociopath". In Clinical terms the words "sociopath" and "psychopath" are no longer used. The disorder is called "Antisocial Personality Disorder".
Someone with APD is basically someone with no care for human life. Symptoms include : Lack of concern regarding society’s rules and expectations.
Repeated violations of the rights of others.
Unlawful behavior.
Lack of regard for the truth
In parents, neglect or abuse of children.
Lack of a steady job. Frequent job changes through quitting and/or being fired
Tendencies toward physical aggression and extreme irritability.

This really had very little do to with "getting revenge" on someone as you mentioned above.

Now to answer you question. Killing for revenge is an interesting topic as what did the person do...I mean if someone kills your loved one and you want to kill that person, I can see your point "eye for an eye" but if someone does something which is annyoing yet not harmful, like cutting you off in the car, killing them would show a disregard for human life and others you would be harming (their loved ones) in the process.
Not sure if you question was a joke but it was actually a good question. Bravo.
because they have a total lack of disregard for others and often break laws, as part of the diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder
