Runny nose and teething?

Question:
My son started in with a runny nose and a low-grade fever yesterday. He is 14 months old. Someone told me it could be his teeth. Is that true?

Answers:
It could be. When babies start to get their teeth, they can have a fever and they may get a runny nose because they are constantly "gumming."

Monitor his fever. It should not spike with teething issues. It should stay constant. He should also seem "ok" otherwise.

If you are concerned, it is always better to see the doctor for a quick check-up.
Could be but is sounds more like a little cold.
sound like u should hit the doctors office because something little could be serious
It could be. Does he seem to have swelled up gums? Is he pulling at his ears?(something different, ear ache). Is he chewing on things? I would probably give him his dosage for infant Tylenol, monitor his fever and if he's not feeling better by the next day I would call the doctor and see what they think. If his fever goes up after giving him the tylenol I would call the doctor. He might have a bug.
