How you manage to study if you have ADD?
Question:
Answers:
everyone has a distinct learning style- add or not. so how do you learn best? with music? while moving? my brother walks while he studies. he just reads while walking and this helps. it especially helps if other people are around- like at the mall so he can just zone in on the assignment. i've had students with ADD who had to run back and forth or jump rope. or clap.
if you want to see your symptoms subside, you should consider changing your diet. processed foods (chips, soda, snack cakes, etc) have been linked to ADD. eating whole foods (food closest to their form in nature) will encourage your body to function more 'normally'.
good luck!
I like to smoke poison ivy while studying for an exam.
a cup of coffee or cola. If you truly have ADD caffeine works opposite of how it works in a non-ADD person. The caffeine calms the neurons and enables the person to concentrate a little bit better
I was on meds for a long time. When I got older i weaned myself off of them. First you have to figure out what kind of learner you are. Visual? Audio? Tactile? Then use that to help you. I'm a visual/tactile learner. I found ways to incorporate maps, charts, computer graphics, and physical objects to help me remember facts. If you're an audio learner, you could read your textbook into a tape recorder and play it back for yourself. People with ADD do not have to be on medication to function. We just need a little more ingenuity..;)
i have ADD but i am on medication so i really don't have to worry about it but if you can't get medication then go for some caffeine!
(also chocolate tends to help me, but i think that is just more of a personal liking)
If you have ADD you CAN'T concentrate without medication. ADD is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. How can anyone expect to recover from that without medication? Professional guidance is needed also. Good Luck!
I have ADHD, so I'm always hyper and can't study. I try to make the information, no matter how extremely boring it is, seem more exciting. They both have the first two abbreviations, Attention Deficit.
Trying to see if I can beat a friend at random quiz questions, try to imagine something really funny, like the word Spacious being shiny, I bribe myself (hey self, you can have a candy if you get an A on the test), and I'm talking to my English teacher to have her help me find good studying methods.
