How do you battle depression relapse when it creeps up?

Question:
This question is intended for sufferers of severe depression & anxiety who have been medicated and in outpatient therapy for extended periods of time.

Answers:
I've dealt with anxiety disorder and periods of depression for 15 years now, I'm 28. I take medicine for both as well and overall I think it's been a help, it's not magic of course. To answer your question, when depression comes I deal with it right away instead of letting a lot of time pass. I'll make an appointment with my psychiatrist and tell her exactly what's going on. I've also learned to take things day by day. Sometimes I'll feel great and others will feel down. On the bad days it can feel horrible but I hold on. Leaning on people who care makes it better.
I keep myself really buisy. If I have to run to orchestra, class, pick up my nieces and take them to the park, cook dinner for a ridiculous amount of people, do my cousins laundry, and just generally run myself ragged, I don't have much time to be depressed. The anxiety is harder, but if it is caused by tension in my home then keeping busy usually helps that aswell.
