Why am i so depressed during evenings?
Question:
At night, i make up a plan for the next day because of the depression, a well organized plan, right before i sleep, but the next day, i'm too tired too carry it out so i abandon it.
I cant seem to get a grip on life, and i realize that when its too late. Something is wearing my brain down but i don't know what. I need to feel energized and reinvigorated. If i start exercising everyday, eating better, use the computer less, and get more fresh air, would it prevent my depression at night?
Sometimes i feel at night past 11:00 P.M is when i have the energy to do what i could have done during the day.
Answers:
I think you may be depressed because you are not feeling productive enough. Do you have a job? Do you see your friends or family regularly? Do you have a girlfriend? I think you should do what you mentioned to get more energy (eat better, get enough sleep, ect.), and then use that energy to do what you want during the day. =]

To me (I'm not a professional) it sounds like you're getting depressed just because the day is ending. I would probably see a health professional, but here goes my informal Dr Phil:
What you said sounds REALLY good. Try it out. Be sure that you get ENOUGH SLEEP AT NIGHT, but not TOO MUCH SLEEP (yes, that's possible, 10+ hours is WAYY too much, keep it around 9 for optimal). Also, try to get small things accomplished. Clean your house. Stay off the PC. Don't watch a lot of TV. Get out there and do something. And if you're a kid or don't have a job, get one. They give you a sense of accomplishment and confidence that nothing else can replace.
Good luck, I wish you the best. If your own methods don't help you, see a mental health professional, and remember, my advice is not professional advice!

I also noticed from your other questions/answers that you're toying around with religion and spirituality. I just want to let you know that Christianity has allowed me to find myself, and I think that it's saved me from a lot of hardship and depression. The fact that I believe that there's a God, watching everything I do, making sure I'm OK, and who's always there for me is a really comforting fact.
I'm not trying to push my belief on you. All I'm saying is that maybe you should go to a church one Sunday. Everyone there will be very welcoming, and you can ask a priest/preacher about your depression. They often have very insightful answers.
I'd love to be a catalyst of change for you. Although you say that you are an atheist and agnostic, I believe you exhibit characteristics that seem to me like you know something is there but haven't found it yet. If your family hasn't brought you up religiously, it's hard to find God. But you can. I want you to. Your life will change for the absolute 100% better.
It sounds to me like you may be suffering from a combination of anxiety and depression. Eating better, exercising, and getting outdoors will definitely help. However, if you find your life becoming unmanageable, or unbearable, I would strongly suggest seeing a counselor. You may have a chemical imbalance, or be suffering from general anxiety disorder, or something similar, in which case there are several medications that can help. Even if you are opposed to medication, I would stronlgly suggest seeing a counselor. I have been through a similar situation, and I can honestly say that seeing a qualified counselop was the best thing I could have done. Good luck.
