Computer gaming addiction, help?

Don't let these guys get you down. I played Ultima online for over 4 years straight. With me being a 26 year old female addicted to games online people thought I was NUTS. It ruined my marriage and I lost jobs because of it not to mention I dropped out of college. Then When I finally got a good job I hurt my back and was out on workers compensation for over 2 years. I went back into gaming with EVE online, World of Warcraft("Smork...SmorkChop of Staghelm."), DOAC, Everquest, and ocasionally UO just to name a few. I did nothing but play online all the time. It was a horrible viscous cycle so I understand completely what you are going through. I finally got another better job and just do not have enough time to do all the "raids" that required me to be at my pc from 4:30 p.m. to well into midnight to get C'thun down. lol
Well my humble advice from one gamer to another is for you to get a job that takes up most of your time like I have( I have to be at work at 6 am monday thru thursday and from 6-2 on friday.) No time for WOW, UO or anything really. I still associate will all the friends I met online through messengers daily but I keep it to a minimum. I do consider those guys and gals cool people because they do really become friends after you associate with them for 5 years or more.
DO NOT throw your PC away by no means. DO NOT take it to heart when people call you a loser b/c they have no freakin idea what you are going through. Slowly ween yourself away from your pc. First step I took was canceling my WOW account and ALL other gaming accounts. It was hard, really hard but it worked. You do not need to pay any one to get rid of your gaming addiction. You have the control to do it yourself. You just need to take those first few initial steps to do it. After I quit gaming for about 2 weeks I was looking at all that money I had spent on games and subscriptions and crap. I could have used that money to buy a car or pay off student loans and such.
Just try to ween yourself like I said and get outside!!!
Take a walk doen the road when you feel the urge to get on your PC.
Start a new hobby-I started making Soap handmade lol...Your probably a dude sooo I know that wouldn't work for you. Just do SOMETHING besides being at your oc all day when you are not at your job.
Be a movie buff. Get the blockbuster online deal and just watch crap tons of movies instead of being online. I do that myself. Movies'r'great!

I know I may have babbled alot but I hope my experience has helped just a little.
Cheers and Good luck to ya!
how bout u just dont go on the computer

or get a new hobby

or break it
just do other stuff instead of playing games, watch a movie, listen to music, go to the mall/out, get a hobby
get a real job.and try getting your net turned off for 2 months and see if it helps ya...you need too get a life.so start today get off the gaming..
Start with identifying the cause, no friends, needing to be wrapped in a fanasy, etc.

I enjoy gaming but hanging out with good people has always taken priority.
I can help you. See, discover another world, a world without video games.Go and play physical games now, whatever games are there in your place.Go to a gym and physically work out a lot and soon you'll have an attractive physique. Get a girlfriend, and spend time with her.Spend time with every other entertainment on earth except VIDEO GAMES, which actually brings nothing at the end of the day. I hope my advice works.Bye.
