What can you take for A.D.D. besides medications?
Question:
I was recently dianosed with A.D.D. I am a adult and my Dr. prescribed Strattera. He wants me to take 2 at night and it keeps me awake. I could ask him to give me something else but I would rather stay away from medications. My 15 year old son has been on Adderell for 4 years and I want to take him off also. If I tell the Dr. I know He will give me excuses to continue the meds because you know he wants the business. Especially when you have insurance they tell you anything.

they make some over the counter stuff you can buy at any vitamin type store or there is a book called natural cures and remedies..has foods and herbs and stuff that are supposed to help
I was on riddilin and adderal as a child. I hated it, hated the way it made me feel, never wanted to go out and do anything. Its like it made me depressed which made me pay attention to people. If that makes any sense to you. But my little cousin has ODD and my aunt gives him Omega 3 for it. She just started using it and i have no idea if itll work. Its worth a shot Omega 3 is very healthy for you. I just dont believe in using medication for Add..because i went through it and hated it.

besides pills for add there is allot of behavior modification you can do. Allot of times the docs make you rely on the pill and totally forget about coping mechanisms as well.
