My stress is WAY out of control! Something must be done before it kills me?


Question:
When I was a child, I didn't even know stress existed. I was such a happy, carefree child who made friends with everyone. There wasn't a single, bad, suspecting bone in my entire body. Unfortunately, that all changed when I went to High School & was badly bullied, almost to the point of destroying my faith in goodness in the world & good people! Following my extreme terror in High School, I was diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) as an aftermath & my fear rose. The good news is, all of that took place almost 10 years ago. I'm 23 now & my IBS is almost a thing of the past.

However, lately I've noticed that my stress is WAY out of control. Before I finally found my two most PERFECT jobs that I'm truly happy & relaxed in, I quit many of my past jobs because of stress. I HATE STRESS! It doesn't take much to frighten me. Just yesterday, this random guy on the street stuck his finger up at me for no reason! I've been frightened since.
What can I do about stress?!

Answers:
I suffer from panic attacks, anxiety and stress the relaxation techniques I've been advised are:

Stop rushing around, we can achieve more by doing things calmly.
Give yourself short breaks, go for a walk,relax,stretch.
Learn your early warning signs for tension. Use these as a cue to relax
Check throughout the day if you are holding yourself tense, check your posture, drop your shoulders, check your breathing.
Reward yourself. Treat yourself on a daily basis.
Visualisation.
Distraction.
Positive thinking.
Breathing exercises.

You're highly sensitive and may have panic/anxiety issues. You were probably very sheltered as a child, and got "shell shocked" pretty severely in High School.

Good that you found these two perfect jobs. You need to be more assertive and face your fears. You need to have more confidence. That's what you need to do.
