New situations are always scary. I don't think you are really afraid to meet new people, as you had to meet new people to teach english every semester. I think the new job is bringing up memories of your old job, and that is bothering you. You are going to have to have a new outlook and decide that you are not going to let that "old you" get in the way of the new you. Put him behind you, and jump feet first into the new job, if this is what you want to do. Don't let that old boss stay in your head, keeping negative thoughts there.
If you are good at managing, by all means jump in there and do it!! Choose to get up and go get that job--network and be successful!
The only way to face a fear is head on. You know what your skills are,it may be time to step outside that comfort zone. Being nervous is ok and normal embrace it and go kick some a@#!
I am in the exact situation as you!! I just keep my head up and know that timing is everything, it will all fall in place for you when it is meant to happen. God has great plans for you! Better than you can imagine, you just got to let go of trying to control it and let life take its course.
Like someone said? Meds take a long time to work. And if that one doesn't work? Another one might work even better. Have hope. Does your psychiatrist allow you to phone them and talk? Mine does and she can usually help calm me down. I think goals and aspirations are great! Don't let any past things - I know it is easy to say but hard to do - stop you from trying again to make a new future for yourself. I am not too good at taking risks but I can feel you are tending to go that way! Good for you! You are an inspiration to me!
