Help! stressing out already?

Question:
hey i moved back from colorado (where i'd lived two yrs) to the same town and house in ct. i am already worried about school, where to sit at lunch, etc, as i lost contact with all but two of my friends and chances r they wont be in my lunch period. please help! ive started grinding my teeth in my sleep from stress. im not sure how people will accept me now that i am sort of a lot different from two yrs ago. im going into high school, btw, so its doubly terrifying.

Answers:
you are not alone... everybody feels in the same way on being transferred from one school to another... it is going to take only a couple of days when you will have a brand new friend-circle...
I went through the same situation. Three years ago, I moved back to my old town (and what a coincidence- in CT!). Some people I used to talk to didn't remember me, others did. I kept in touch with certain friends, as you did. Stick with them, but put yourself out there. Get involved in a sport or club after school. You're bound to meet people who share your interests by doing so. You remind me of me, lol. I was stressed too. I avoided going to lunch at first. Maybe you can ask people in your classes what lunch wave they're in. If you don't mind me asking, where in CT did you move back to? I hope you meet lots of nice people and enjoy yourself.
I went to a high school than transfered to another then, transfered back to the original. So I thought it would be the same and it couldn't be more different. You can't go back. You can only go forward. Just be friendly and outgoing and you will make friends. Hang out with the two friends you know if you can and make new friends.
Make new friends! I'm in college, and I only know one person that's going to the same univeristy I am, and she's a different major than I am, so it's hard. I underwent the same experience, except I didn't know anything about anyone at my school, and you have a little background knowledge. Be yourself, you'll get friends in no time, and you'll be more interesting in ways because you've been out of town, and you have stories to share, and so forth.

This experience, in my opinion, will be very good for you, because in a couple of years when you go to college, you'll have to make friends all over again, and it will be easier since you had to do the same process so recently. Don't sweat it, and good luck!
You're starting high school just like everyone else that's starting high school - they're all nervous. Try to get back in touch with some more of your old friends - maybe have a "Welcome Me Back to the East Coast" party for a bunch of them - that'd bee a cool way to end the summer and get re-acquainted with some old friends. Even invite some kids that you weren't really close to, but you just sort of "know" - just to get to know more people! Even new kids that you don't know in the neighborhood!
You have a few more weeks before school starts, so get crackin'! Grab the bull by the horns and face your fear head-on!
Good luck, and let me know how the party goes! ;-)
