How do i know what I'm supposed to do?

Question:
I am a very indecisive young individual. For instance, right now I wanted to type "person" instead of "individual", but my left cheek started itching so I thought I should type "individual" instead. There is definitely something wrong. If I want to do something and there's an obstacle, I begin to think I am not meant to do it. I want to be an actor, but because I had trouble earlier finding my agent's contact info I started to believe, "maybe I'm not meant to do this right now"...And just now the lights dimmed breifly, so I am thinking "God" doesn't like what I'm typing. It sucks! I'd like to be free of this way of thinking and simply do what I (big capital I) WANT to do. I over-analyze EVERYTHING. It makes me unable to enjoy life and most importantly, it's made me unsure of what I want to do with my future. Am I just afraid of failure? Possibly, but how do I rid myself of thinking I shouldn't do something just because my darn leg was itching when the idea crossed my mind?

Answers:
Ok you need to talk to a doctor about this "magical" thinking; there can be physical causes which can cause this sort of mental behavior. The good news is, there are treatments; but first, the cause(s) have to be identified. So make an appointment with your doctor, as soon as possible.
what r u talking bout
Yaw O - SORRY, but you think to much and give too much credence to your thoughts.

Thinking is a FUNCTION of your mind. The purpose of your mind is to keep you alive and to make you happy. To do this your mind is constantly on the lookout for things that might harm or kill you or things that might make you unhappy. Notice I said 'might.'

Your mind is a problem solver and is constantly looking for problems to solve (how to keep you alive and happy). Unfortunately (as in compulsive thinking) when there are no real problems to solve the mind just makes something up to keep busy. If you not feeling happy your mind will look for a reason why you're not happy and then just keep trying to solve the problem to make you happy. It becomes a viscous circle.

You think you have no control over your thinking, but you are forgetting that YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS DOING THE THINKING. Please read Richard Carlson's book "You Can Be Happy No Matter What." Carlson gives advice on taking control of your thoughts. You can control what you think about and it is not that difficult.
Second guessing ourself is a common human weakness. Try this for 21 days. Look at yourself in a mirror every morning and say out loud. I AM DECISIVE, three times. Then start your day and make your first impression your decision for that day. If you make a mistake (and who doesn't) you can always correct it, but don't be indecisive for the 21 day trial period.

Habits are formed by postive affirmations of what you want to accomplish. You're half way there already because you don't want to be indicisive. The rest is easy... or maybe not.
It sounds like OCD-obsessive Compulsive Disorder. There are many OCD's, different categories.
First-RELAX! Try deep breathing exercises. Pray. Matter of fact there is a prayer line you can call 24/7..1-877-731-1000. Sometimes it's BUSY> but that does NOT mean that maybe you should not be calling for prayer.
As for your future-God will guide you-if you ask. If you want to be an actor-GO FOR IT! Do it NOW. You don't want to hit 40 yrs old and think-I wish i woulda tried harder. Things are easier when you're younger. Go for it! So what if someone says no-what if they say YES? You won't know if you don't start knockin on doors, makin phone calls. Increase your odds-go to EVERY casting call. SOMEONE will notice you-eventually. Go where the directors go-work where they eat. BE SEEN.
i would talk to a doctor -- to many physical reactions!

but i wonder if your fear is to suceed
i mean we all sencond guess our self but not to the point where we itch
