PLease help, i really dont want to go!!?? 7 wks is to long!?

Question:
if you read my last question, well i had a plan to carry out suicide, my parents started becoming suspicious and making assumptions. they made a call with my doctor, and i overheard the conversation on the other phone line, he said to take me to the ER and that a minimal stay in a treatment center would be 7 wks, because i had major depression, and had psychotic symptoms or whatever, He said it was going to be mandatory if i tried to hurt myself, the honest truth i dont want treatment anymore if that means staying in a mental hospital that long, i dont know, Suicide sounds like a really good thing right now. We are leaving in a few hours, my mom has somethings that she has to sort out, I am really scared it would be my very first time, i dont want to go, think of all the bad things that could or will happen. What should i do?

Answers:
I worked as a mental health adult case manager many years ago and had to visit some of my patients in various treatment centers like the one you're going to. They were all very, very nice. Of course you'll miss your home and your parents, but you'll be able to visit with them frequently. Mental health institutions aren't scary like portrayed in the movies. You'll be able to read and watch t.v. and make phone calls. As for the 7 weeks, you may not even be there that long! What they are going to do is give you medications and make sure that you're not suicidal anymore. When you are considered "stable", you will be sent home and will continue in outpatient therapy. Don't be afraid. It's what is best for you and years from now when you look back at this, you'll be thankful for it.
if you go to the treatment then no bad things will happen.
7 weeks isn't so bad. maybe you could use the time to get really creative. write a book, or paint a picture.
don't go through with suicide. you may do something great to change the world someday. what'll we do without you?
if your thinking about suicide then it is best that you go. they can put you on some medicine to help you, as you could be very depressed also. 7 weeks will go by so fast and you will be back home.
Please; Dont worry. That is the best thing. It dosent help anything. I am pretty sure things wont be as bad as you think they are. Wherever you are going, they are medical professionals, and they know what they are talking about. You might think it is bad now, but the only reason your parents are taking you there is for your safety. They care about you, and want to see you successful in the future. And, dont worry about the whole 7 weeks thing. A lot of times, people say that kind of stuff. Medical people always take it like its the worst. For Example, if someone called in saying they have chest pains, you would probably expect them to say come in, you might be having a heart attack...it's normal.

I wish you the best. : ). Suicide is a long term result, for a short term problem. And, just remember that you always have to go through the rain to get the rainbow. : )
Don't kill yourself! Going to this thing is way better than killing yourself! If you die you won't be able to see what life has to offer! And killing yourself will be just adding yourself to the hall of shame. Its a lame excuse to escape from problems. Go to the treatment center its way better than not living!!
dont wory ur aloud to like have music its really peaceful and relaxed u'll be fine i promise! most ppl end up liking it =) i promise! its just really peaceful i mean alot of ppl want to stay longer and they let u i think u get to use the computer but u'll be fine i promise. =)
my cousin attempted suicide twice before getting help. He stayed for 2 months and came home healthy and happy he said it was the best thing that ever happend to him. When i asked him what it was like, he said that people talked about their problems in group therapy and also one on one with a really good therapist. He said it was he most un threatening and relaxing 2 months of his life...
you would regret not going, because after you get help you will find that life is worth living and you have so much ahead of you.

(also, my best friend commited suicide last year...i was so depressed i cried for months and started doing stupid sh*t to hide my grief. Accept the help, because you are only going to improve yourself...and only good can come of it)
YOU ***** WHY DONT U THINK OF OTHER PEOPLE BEFORE U DECIDE TO KILL YOURSELF ! PEOPEL ARE GONNNA BE CRYING AT UR FUNERAL AND UR FAMILY IS GONNA BE SCARRED FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. IF THIS IS THE WAY U WANT TO GET AWAY FRM UR PROBLEMS U REALLY SHOULD KILL URSELF AND MAYBE IT WILL SAVE U PARENTS A LITTLE BIT OF CASH

also listen to the other answers because my answer isint helping is it?
The first answer is the best answer! I have been in 4 timess now. All 4 times have been good experiences the doctors and staff are caring and loving! You get to live a normal routine sleep, get up, eat breakfast, watch tv or go to your room, eat lunch make phone calls, mine you could go out to smoke, they have excercise groups if you want to join in you can, they have other groups you can go to too, eat supper, do what you want, laundry, shower make phone calls etc. It is just to get you on better meds and get you stablized. Don't be afraid and for Gods sake and yours don't hurt yourself! Everyone is rooting for you sweetie! We want you to get better! Hugs!
Hospitals like the one you're going to are usually not that bad. Just try to relax and learn from everything. I hope it helps with your suicidal thoughts and you realize suicide is not the answer. Take care and try not to worry too much..

Hugs~

There are many different wards in a mental institution-oh yes, there is one for severly sick individuals, but there is one for people with problems like yours. Suicide is never the answer! I've tried it, I know. You get a police record for attempting to murder someone, you get enforced committal, you are in that really bad ward full of severly sick individuals. If you voluntarily get checked into a Mental facility, then you have the control. Your in a better ward and to top it off--you just might feel better! Try voluntarily going, it may be OK. It was for me.
I've been where you are right now. It is best for you to get some professional help. It's not our right to take our own life. I've been on meds for a long time and they do help if you get the right kind. Work with them and your life will be lots better. Only you can change your life,,but sometimes we all need a little nudge.
Plz.go They are there to help..it won't be bad i promise. The places that I've heard of are pretty nice you talk alot to counselors and they will probably figure out what medicine will be best to help you. You are sick and need help...your parents love you and just want to help you!
Don't give up!
from the sounds of it you need a stay in the nut house, either that or you are in desperate need of attention, or your just bullshitting in here to see what ppl will say
sorry, ur already there now.
