Lexapro and your metabolism?
Question:

I was on it for a year and a half, it made me so sleepy and I did sleep alot during the day, so Iam sure that is why I gained weight, it took me four months to get completely off it, I was on Paxil before that and it is real bad stuff..now I take nothing and do need something..but the side effects are terrible
I also take Lexapro and I really haven't heard anything about gaining weight on it..You've only been on it for a week, give it some time to get into your system.I think my doctor told me it would take about 6 weeks ....then see what happens. In the meantime, if you want to know learn more about it.side effects and whatever go to the webmd website, into the drugsAtoZ section and look it up. I really like webmd, I use it for just about all my health related research.
Lexipro made me feel fatigue and nauseas for two whole weeks. After that, I felt some nausea and tired at times, but the med will have "kicked in" and you will start to feel, oh, so much better! It's a vey good med. I did gain a few pounds, but I don't think it was my metabolism. My nausea gave me yuk feeling to my tummy, like I was hungry all the time. I was hitting the Red Hots and cookie jar nightly! I didn't use to, but I craved sweets and carbs. So, after having to lay down to get the zipper up on my pants, I decide to change my nightly cravings to sunflower seeds and fruit. I lost the extra poundage and could again zip my pants like a normal person!
