Do people ever get depressed if they can't seem to be good at anything? What is the cure to such sadness?

Question:
I haven't really excelled in any single field that I have studied or worked in. That is something which seems a bit depressing to me. There doesn't seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel. In some things I do I fail completely, in others I do okay or average but not good or great no matter how much effort I put into it or how many sleepless nights I have. I study for some exams everyday for 2/3 weeks in advance, others I know just have to prepare at the very least a day before it and they ace it completely. How is it not possible to be jealous of something like that?

Answers:
lots of people have this problem so first off your not alone, if you have low self esstem or anything try building your confidence it always helps try talin to more and more people around school or luk in the mirrior and convince ur0self u are gd at things and u can do things and not everyone is gd at everything.. thre maybe a ew who go on to make a brilliant grade in ..science but be realllllly bad at english if theres a hobbie you most like doing if thats reading or listening to music or palying sports or making things go wif that subject and the subjects that are sometims connected with it. it is something to be worried about im not going to lie to you because it conserns your future and what makes you feel the way you do wen other people do better than you but u need to stop any think that yh i can do this n yh even if i dnt get the bst grade in the world it dus not matter because ill try harder nxt time n pic t the weak spots that i dint do well on so try to keep your faith up :) GG
I'm useless at everything i do, but, and there is always a but, I'm a good parent to my son. Yes being cr*p at everything can make you feel depressed but doesn't mean you've got depression. I really would go and talk to a doc about this tho cause it's obviously getting you down. And i don't believe you need to excel to be good at something. I'm not 'The Best' mum in the world but I'm OK at it, and that's enough for me. Don't be so hard on yourself, and don't have such high expectations then you wouldn't feel like you keep failing!
It's simple there are people that are different then we are. I don't think my older sister opened a book in college and took so many "honors" I could vomit. I studied almost every night just making the cut off for a third rate medical school. That's where I hit my "Niche" and it was like someone had shoved a rocket up my lower intestinal tract. Don't give up, ya it's a pain in the butt and it can get you mad. You might be into subjects that are to advanced. Take a second look at your major.
Hard not to be envious of people who see to "have it easy". You need to continue to work a little harder and the rewards will be even sweeter.
See teens, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... on page 13. It doesn't matter if you are never much good at any particular subject: you can still be a good person, hold down a job, have healthy, happy kids, and enjoy life. Read page 2, and consider volunteering, even from home: you could be good at that, and help others, and yourself.
