Answers:
my wife had/has bipolar episodes mostly brought on by hormones from birth control / had severe post pardum depression that got way worse from the different medications . it is like someone strung out on hallucinagions like acid, pcp, crank or crack binges ... you may want to look into what originally started your reactions which were probably chemically or hormonally induced . my wife takes asthma mediicine also . but since she had been off of the birth control she hasnt had any severe episodes except when she got pregnant 3 times and twice it caused miscarriages . the third one we were able to get her under control to where the episode did not cause a miscarriage and then she was fine until after having the baby 6 weeks ago ... but then she had aprx 3 weeks of depression and the meds made her much worse until she took some sleeping pills to get to where she caught enough sleep to just quit it all and she is doing alright now ... it seems one pill causes one problem then you take a pill to cure that side effect but it causes another . seems awfully coincidentel to me that the makers of these pills get more money for the more pills she has to take and each pill needs another to cure her from the next pill .. round and round we go .. I say look at what initially caused your depression and read Marriage For Dummies whether you are in a relationship or not it teaches about basic psychological patterns and how to recognise them and break the cycle or diffuse problems before they get out of hand .. wellbutrin made my wife VERY depressed ... it is a downer the same class as drinking like an alcoholic ..
For depression, what works for me is going into the depression and letting it have me.
Mild depression is very thin. resistance makes it appear thick. I went right through it.
well hey if u need support i am here dogmicjoe@yahoo.com. try walking to slow down the hypermoods.
If you really have bipolar disorder, an anti-depressant like Wellbutrin is not enough!
You sound like you need a mood-stabilizer, stat!
(The Wellbutrin is making you manic, without a mood-stabilizer.)
(A lot of times they come in the form of anti-convulsants. Example: Trileptal)
There are also other meds. like Lithium, Depakote, Seroquel...- it just depends on what works for you.
Yes, you can control your episodes. Firstly, you must be on a mood stabilizer. You are only on antidepressant. That is not good medical treament for bipolar. Do you see a psychiatrist or a family doc? A psychiatrist should know better and prescribe you a mood stabilizer. That'll stop or tremendously lessen your episodes.
Depression is for sissys! Go outside and Jog or walk. That'll cure your woe is me episodes.
Yeah drugs are the answer..then take more drugs to counter act the previous drugs side effects.
Your in a rut and the pharmicy is cashing in on your weakness.
Who diagnosed you with Bipolar? One word. Lithium. Also, Wellbutrin can cause "extremely emotional behavior". Based on your question, I would find another doctor.
Depakote=Poison and it makes your hair fall out
Seroquel= Will make you fat as a hog as will the other atypical antipsychotics.
well firstly you should be on more that an antidepressant. Plus wellbutrin is probably the worst one you could give a bipolar patient. Ask about a mood stabiliser such as lithium. I take lithium and an antipsychotic to control my moods and it works pretty well.
