Can you really get better?
Question:

Most of the time...yes! But you have to stop looking at all the problems, and focus on what you can change in your life. If YOU take back to control and power in your life, nothing can stop you from deciding what happens inside your head!
Why not? You can be as normal as you choose to be now that you know what problems you have. Always take your meds and do what the docs say. Keep on keeping on.
yea, i have depression too, but last month my cousin was taking meds and she over dosed and died, they ruled her death as over dose of depression meds. so i stop taking them, i kno ur therapist probley asked you about your relationship with the FATHER, hevanly lord. but thats what helped me, and yes u can get better,
You can get better. I'm proof of that. I took Paxil for 6 years for anxiety and phobias. I stopped taking it 2 years ago (side effects were getting bad) and I tried everything to get over the anxiety. I did. I am 95% healthy and know that in probably 4months, I will be 100%
Yes, it is likely to recover from a mental illness, or mental illnesses, however you will likely always need medication and to cope effectively with your mental illness. It is like someone with diabetes. The person will always need medication and to practice good health practices such as proper diet and exercise, however, they can live a fully productive life.
There has been a new outlook on mental health that fully embraces recovery. You should check into some of the consumer-run self-help programs to learn more.
yes, you can be. it will be a constant battle sometimes, but you can get through it and be back to normal. best luck.
YES, YOU CAN! I was like you 4 years ago. I was in and out of psychiatric hospitals for two of those years. Then my doctor recommended a residential place. It was like a nursing home but with mentally ill people. I did me a lot of good. My doctor and I found the right combination of medicine that works for me. Now I am living in my own appartment. Everyone says I am doing great.
Some advice I found on my journey to mental health:
1. Be honest with your doctor and therapist about how you feel both mentally and physically. It is important.
2. Know that you may need to try many different medications because the doctor dose not know exactly wich medication will work for you and which won't. It is alot of trial and error because there are not tests which tell him/her what is going on.
3. It takes someone strong to admit they have a problem and someone twice as strong to seek help. : )
