How can I learn to be confident and speak up?

Question:
I feel as though i get very nervous around people. how can i become confident enough in myself to be relaxed and have a normal conversation?

Answers:
think positive thoughts. everytime i have to speak in front of people, I think of things that make me relax, and before I go up, I take a deep breathe, and I think to myself, "i can do it. there is nothing 2 be afraid about"

it may sound sorta stupid and dorky, but it really actually works.it helped me speak in front of 550 ppl..

hope that helps! ^^
This is problem is with me also.
the same here, it feels weird and I'm trying my best when talking but I get really nervous, sometimes I think I'm really confident but I'm not O_o
Sometimes I get afraid of being judged on what I say. Like I like orange and everyone else hates orange. To feel as though you've got you're foot in your mouth. You just need to fell as though you right and their wrong fell your up and their down. Don't be afraid to say what you feel. Let it out.

I'm the same way I just started school again and its hard to speak up in front of the whole class.
I got the same problem.
Tell yourself that "I don't give a cr@p what anyone else thinks." It might seem weird at first, but if you keep telling yourself that, eventually you will believe it. If you don't care what others think, what is there to be afraid of? They're just another person to talk to, right? Don't worry, be happy. Eventually you'll feel relaxed around everyone.
