Anyone with experience with Zyprexa? I would rather die than get fat from it. Any one not gain weight?

Question:
Alright went on Zyprexa today, but I am stopping because of the drastic chance of weight gain. I am using it to treat BPD. Anyone go on it and not gain weight? Anyone with a better mood stabilizer that does make you gain weight? Thanks guys.

Answers:
I was on Symbyax (combo of Zyprexa and Prozac) for bipolar disorder and gained a pound a week for three months. I'm thin, so that was more than 10% of my body weight.
I hated the way I physically felt while on Zyprexa - very tired, always hungry, not amount of food satisfied me. Eat less and exercise more, right? Easier said than done when not eating is painful and you're too tired to move.
My psychiatrist took me off, placed me on Abilify (an antipsychotic - no weight gain, but nausea and fatigue), then switched to Lamictal, a mood stabilizer. I have been very satisfied with that, no fatigue, no weight gain. Finding the right medication takes time, patience, and a good psychiatrist who listens (and responds) to your medication concerns.
The other problem with Zyprexa is its potential to raise blood sugar and even cause diabetes in otherwise healthy people. If you have any risk factors for diabetes, you should be especially wary of taking Zyprexa.
I've been taking zyprexa one 15 mg tablet once a day before bed since 2001. I did not gain any weight but I was a little overweight before I started taking it. I weighed 170 in 2000 and 2001 and that's about what I weigh now. No more or less.
Oh my God, That medicine was the worst.. im bipolar 2.. and i had severe manic episode's and they would help me come down.. however once i got to normal... they made me sluuuugish and tired and YES on top of it my stomach was NEVER full. increased apetite was a known sideeffect.Let me tell ya
The biggest I have evvver been in my life was the 4 months on that drug... eversince i will not take any antiphsycotic for biplar... seroquel makes me hungry too but not as bad as zyprexa... HOw long you take the drug??.
Last checked, I weigh 175. I'm 26 male, Zyprexa 15mg

What is more important is your state of consciousness.
In fact. it's all that matters.

You don't need to have anything for a peaceful mind.
A peaceful mind, is a mind that does not seek.
Lilly Zyprexa Lawsuit 8 State Countdown

Zyprexa targeted by AG's for Criminal Fraud

Utah Latest state to sue Eli Lilly in developing "Viva Zyprexa" Scandal.

Side effects to Zyprexa can include high blood sugar levels, acute weight gain and pancreatitis, according to the lawsuit.

"Utah has paid millions of dollars for inappropriate and medically unnecessary doses of Zyprexa. As a result, Lilly has been illegally enriched at the expense of the State," the lawsuit said.

The state is seeking civil damages and penalties, including $5,000-$10,000 for each prescription that was "not medically necessary."

Lilly also faces lawsuits filed by attorneys general of Alaska, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and West Virginia alleging that it marketed Zyprexa for unapproved uses or hid the risks of weight gain and diabetes.

Eli Lilly makes billions on diabetes treatment and also gets $4.2 billion a year in sales of their biggest cash cow Zyprexa which has been scandalized as *causing* diabetes as a major side effect.
