How much sleep?

Question:
Ok...im 16 and was wondering how many hours sleep should i be getting a night?...
Im having about 3-4 on a good night...
Is this enough?...

Answers:
3-4 really just isn't enough. You'll be feeling the effects of that soon enough. I'd say shoot for about 8 or 9. Even if you go to bed late, make sure you sleep in later too to make sure you get enough sleep, or you won't be able to stay awake during the day. Try not to let your sleep cycle get too thrown off. Good luck.
not nearly enough, it will catch up on you is something worrying you.
should be getting at least 7 hours a night
you should be getting 6- 9 hours a night. go to the doctor if you have trouble sleeping.
no it isn't. you should be getting 7-9 hrs.
Well if you are feeling full of beans and spot free and are not at all tired through the day I would think you can manage on only 3 - 4 hours.

However I would say 7-8 hours is much better for the body mind and spirit.
Everyone is different. I need at least 8-10 hours just to function properly. If I didn't work I'd probably sleep 12 hours per day.
I would sat 6 hrs would do you good but 7 is even better !!
the world health organisation recommends you get 8 hours sleep per night
you need to get at least 8 hours sleep a night 3-4 hours is not enough
no way lol, people say you should have around 7-9 hours sleep.
not really you should be sleeping at least 8 hours if you don't get enough sleep it can effect you in many ways 4 example u may have mood swings and can get emotional so try and sleep the 8 hours
According to Napoleon: 6 for a man, 7 for a woman, and 8 for a fool.
I like to sleep about 6 hours and be active about the same. I feel more energetic and creative. When I sleep 8 or more hours I wake up tired.
no you need at least 6 hours
Of course its enough. Your body only actually needs 2 hours a night, most people think they need more though.
No that's not enough. I go through periods of little sleep but it does usually catch up with me and i couldn't survive on 3-4 hours every night. Try everything from taking a bath to a hot milky drink, relaxation tapes, a light hearted novel and if it persists try the doctor and at least you can say you've tried everything. I mean i'm assuming you are struggling with the little amount of sleep you are getting, if not, ignore this.
Not at all. You need at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Your bad sleeping habits will catch up with you in time and your not going to like it. Get off the internet and get some sleep.
No
no, i watched a program on lack of sleep a while ago because my fiance n i are both insomniacs & it said that the best ammount of sleep for an adult a night should be about 7hrs 45mins
there are two different types of sleep paterns
night owl. people who stay up late because they have trouble falling to sleep
or
larks. people who wake up very early

i have been this way for many years n have tried many things maybe one of them will work for you???
hot bath before bed
lavender smell
hot milky drink befor bed
read a book befor bed, it has a sleepy effect on your eye's
calm's tablets. etc

but its probably due to an anxiety n will pass if you find out whats makin you feel anxiouse

good luck with it n hopefully sweet dreams

ken
you should be having at least 8. go to your doctor, he will probably put you on sleeping pills providing these are the only symptons you have been experiencing..
not for a 16 yr old i used to have 10 hrs and sleep in til 12 noon Sundays get some more in good luck
3 - 4 hours of sleep is not a lot. You should probably be getting 8 - 10 hours a night at your age.
