When I first started trying to reach for help from my mental illness, I got rejected as well. Talk to someone who will care, like a school counselor or your doctor. If you are under 18, I believe they must tell your parents if you are thinking of hurting yourself or commiting suicide. Otherwise, I think you are protected by patient/doctor rights. But if you need a medication prescribed to you, it may be a different story.
As far as which med is right for you, its a trial and error process..not every med works for every person. Just dont get discouraged, there ARE people who care.
rat poison or zyrtec
You might want to try Zoloft, Celexa(?), or the generic medication Citalopram.
The medication will not make the depression go away, but will keep it under control.
If you are under 18, your parents may be notified, otherwise they can't tell them anything without your permission.
It's different for everyone. The first medicine they put me on was Zoloft and that made me suicidal (side effect) so they put me on Wellbutrin instead. That seemed to help in the beginning but it hasn't made things better lately. They just prescribed me to a new medicine but I'm not sure what it's called.
Doctors aren't allowed to tell your parents as long as you aren't thinking of seriously hurting yourself or suicide. But I'm pretty sure they would have to know if the doctor prescribed you pills.
